On August 12, 2018, the Prior Provincial of the Indonesian Province, celebrated a special Mass at the chapel of St. Therese of Lisieux for the 45th anniversary of the Carmelite JPIC program in that area. In 1973, the Indonesian Province was given a piece of land in that area by the local government to be the location for the housing of homeless people who would be empowered and trained by the Carmelites. With the help of some donors, the Indonesian Province built 70 small houses in the area, it also built Catholic kindergarten and elementary school and the chapel of St. Therese of Lisieux. The children of the people were sent to nursery and teacher school with the help of the sisters. Now after 45 years those children have grown up and have much better living. At present time in the area Perkumpulan Darma Laksana runs Magdalena de Pazzi Study House and the House of Blessed Titus Brandsma.
