On August 19, 2017 Fr. Ignatius Budiono, O.Carm., the Prior Provincial of the Indonesian Province of the Carmelite Order blessed the House of Mercy in Dau, Malang while Mgr. Henricus Pidyarto Gunwan, O.Carm., the bishop of Malang, blessed the chapel of the house, chapel of St. Anne and St. Joachim. The house of mercy would function as a shelter for poor abandoned elderly people. Perkumpulan Darma Laksana cooperated with the congregation of Carmelite Sisters of St. Therese of Lisieux in running the house.
